It's always a good idea to have a good reason why parents, friends, and family should be supporting your team: after all, there are a lot of causes out there looking for support. Take some inspiration from your fellow team captains who are using their skill with the keyboard and camera to make a good-looking (and well-performing) page!
Spotlight an exciting activity
Nobody wants to support something boring - so show them you're not! Maybe you aren't flying intercontinentally like Erin, but whatever you do have on the go is better than simply saying you are 'offsetting team expenses'.
Highlight a specific expense
Knowing where the money is going keep people motivated - which keeps them coming back! Ann at the DSA is giving a concrete goal, and it's a tangible item supporters can easily understand. Sports teams often point to the price of specific safety gear, such as $60 to recondition a football helmet, or $120 for a game's worth of ice time.
Showcase a good cause
Who wouldn't want to help out the Mavericks? Paul's adding community service to the team's to-do list this year... And here I haven't even done my new year's resolution yet. Knowing you're helping a team give back, or even develop valuable life skills can give that warm fuzzy feeling that makes people remember why they're giving their valuable support in the first place.
Prove you're a lot of fun!
...After all, isn't it all about having fun? Putting energy into your page and showing everyone having a great time is the perfect way to show your supporters what they're doing to help is making people happy. Katie's group certainly seems like they're having a blast!
